Discipline.... Focus more money on your best bets instead of spreading it out.

Bet Winners..... Not odds.  If a 3-5 looks great, play it, cash it, stop trying to beat a horse you think will win because of odds.

Sometime the best bet is just to win instead of spreading thin to cover multiple exactas/tri's/ etc.

Bribe some drivers with a $40 bet out of your pocket bet, after the warm up. Take them to the bar after the races and you buy.
When they have finished the warm up they will turn in the stretch and give you one of many sign to give you the best horse.
Years ago at Wolverine they would take a driver or two to Mitch Housies after the races and pick up the tab
If you hit it big they had tellers that would bury the payout for 10%.Although I wasn't involved in the scam it was well known
what was going on among heavy hitters.
