First off Spree I am sorry this happened to you.
Secondly I hope in the future you will be more empathic to other owners and horsemen sharing their experiences.
But the most important information I can share with you is NEVER EVER trust the Illinois Stewards or Racing Board!
Remember Dan Nance, Joe Dakuris, Tim (TC) and other horsemen/members that were Horseplop originals?
The stories they told about the Illinois Racing Board and the criminal Stewards in Chicago were TRUE!
I wish I could email you some of the old BTW threads from the early 2000's I have hard copies of.
Those threads were lost in a site crash and I don't have electronic copies.
Anyway Dan and Joe named names in their extensive dealings with the stewards and racing board.
DO NOT TRUST ANYONE IN ILLINOIS RACING OR ANY PROMISES THEY MAKE TOWARDS HELPING YOU!
It's only Lip Service!
I can speak from personal experience.
I started going to Illinois races in 1972 with my father who had friends that owned horses.
In 46 years the faces running the con games have changed but the results have not.
I only owned and bred horses for 9 of those years and that was way too much.
If you see Todd Dolbee out your way tell him there are several guys in Illinois who will still beat his ass for selling their horse and disappearing with the money.
Unfortunately this shit happens all the time.
