So young, such a baby face, so wise, and so easy to talk to.
I am just an old horse trainer still going around in circles. Sometimes Fast. Sometimes Half-Fast.

He was definitely special.  I might have mentioned this before so forgive me if you already heard it but back in approx 74 my fiancee and I went on a road trip to go to Washington DC and decided to take a roundabout route and go to Liberty Bell and the Adios pace at Meadows first.

On that Friday we went to Liberty Bell and Meadow Bright won the feature.  After the race we went to a Howard Johnson's for a snack and who is sitting there?

Delvin .. I went up and congratulated him on the win and he was nice as could be and talked to me for a few minutes.  I was just a 20 something fan back then but he struck me as a true gentleman.
