I agree with you in the respect that the scum bag drug trainers and owners who support it are ruining the sport! Or have possibly ruined it for good.  But why insult the people making a living as grooms or jogging?  You love horses, you know stalls have to be cleaned and horses bathed and looked after.  Those aren’t the people ruining the industry.

I knew I was "dead" when he didn't go first -over at the half....but I would have felt better if Merton did SOMETHING, rather than sit in behind those long shots.  Go first-over and give it up on the far turn - at least I would have felt I got a little run for my money. 
I also try to stay away from races where the three Merton boys are in the same race .....never know whose "turn" it is to win those races......LOL.
