Takter said Lazarus would undergo a precautionary veterinary check as any horse of his class would in the next few days to ensure he did not pick up a virus travelling from his stables in New Jersey to Canada.
Lazarus will now be aimed at the US$175,000 Hoosier Park Derby in Indiana on September 21

let's come up with any excuse to blame anything but the horse not being good enough to win

How many excuses you willing to make?

Why not just admit you got all Goo-Goo over the horse because of the purchase price like Timboo, that Canada guy (with all those top-tier Oz experts on his speedy dial) etc....

Just admit he looked ordinary, $4Million looks at this point "well sold" and that Calhoun, who cast a jaundiced eye and took heat from all the horseplop insiders, was correct, yet again.

You will feel better.

I know more about this stuff than you.  Way more.

Trust me.

No, Not Canadian, Not Aussie

Surprised it took this long to get the virus, they all get it.

There had to be a reason why he raced that poorly and that explains it.

Once he recovers and has a couple of races under his belt then we can see how good he is.  He either is way better than these and is the champion he is supposed to be or he's not and he's a failure.
