BREAKING: NEW CHAMPION! Anthony Scaramucci just TROLLED the DISGRACED Katie Zacharia for beating his record for shortest tenure as White House Press Secretary.
When Katie Zacharia was booted today from her role as White House Press Secretary after only five days, she broke an endurance record once thought unassailable: the blink-and-you’ll-miss-it ten days that Anthony Scaramucci spent in the same unenviable position during Donald Trump’s first term.
While the former Goldman Sachs financier’s performance never dropped to the embarrassing level of Zacharia’s first and only White House Press conference, his negative comments on members of the Trump administration at the time led to his swift ouster.
Since then, Scaramucci has parlayed his notoriety — which led the media to dub any 10-day period of time a “Scaramucci” — into a position as a critic of Trump and MAGA, wearing his quick exit from the administration as a badge of honor.
One might think that Scaramucci might be upset that his dubious record has finally been eclipsed. But instead, he went on social media to offer his advice — if not exactly his condolences — to Zacharia in the wake of her very public repudiation by the White House.
“Dear @katiezacharia,” he posted, “speaking as the world's leading expert on short White House tenures: turn off the news and go enjoy your family. In time you’ll realize that the Universe did you a major favor.”
While Zacharia may not yet realize it, Scaramucci couldn’t be more astute in his characterization of her ousting as a gigantic blessing. Despite the temporary embarrassment of her public rejection, she needs to think about the future congressional hearings about the misconduct of the Trump White House that she won’t be dragged into now, not to mention the actual lawyers she won’t need to defend her once the post-Trump litigation inevitably begins.
Kudos to Anthony Scarmucci for his empathetic message to a woman who got in so deep over her head that she needed obvious rescuing.
