Trump truths--
« on: Today at 03:42:20 PM »
Donald Trump’s right — he has accomplished things in a year and a half that no other president in history could have possibly imagined accomplishing.
He’s…
Managed to make every single major economic metric worse than  they were when he took office.
Driven inflation to three-year highs for most of 2026.
Gotten the United States into what seems like another never-ending war in the Middle East.
Is single-handedly responsible for sending gas prices over $4 a gallon for most of the year.
Allowed a Secretary of Defense to remain employed despite sharing top-secret military strike plans in a non-secure group chat that included a reporter from The Atlantic.
Picked a fight with Canada over a trade agreement that he, himself, signed during his first term as president.
Done more damage to NATO than any of our enemies have ever been able to do to that decades-old alliance.
Appointed someone to lead the Department of Health who has spread so much misinformation about medical science that it's become a nearly daily occurrence to read about a new "outbreak" of some parasite or disease — including the highest number of cases of measles we've had in decades.
Repeatedly bragged about his "great" relationship with a mass-murdering communist dictator who abuses and tortures his people, Kim Jong-un.
Managed to cut job growth by 71%, from 2 million jobs created during the 18 months prior to his inauguration to just 548k during his first year and a half back as president.
Raised taxes on every single American through his tariffs while keeping our trade deficits mostly flat year-over-year, even as our "goods" deficit actually grew. That's a special kind of incompetence — raising tariffs and taxes on all Americans and still failing to reduce the trade deficit.
Presided over the longest government shutdown in history, topping the previous record — also set by him.
Made openly repeating rhetoric straight from the white nationalist playbook acceptable again.
Managed to drive our national debt over $40 trillion with his record deficits.
Broken his own record for the worst approval rating this early into a new presidential term.
Somehow managed to turn immigration — previously his strongest policy position — into one of his biggest liabilities, as ICE has killed multiple immigrants and several American citizens.
Managed to make all of our allies hate us.
Claimed to be anti-drug while repeatedly pardoning individuals who have been tied to and/or convicted of drug trafficking.
Continued to cover up the Epstein files to protect child predators.
Effectively ignored the Fourth Amendment through an administration that has stated American citizens should be prepared to show their papers to prove their citizenship.
Pushed our allies toward stronger relationships and partnerships with China.
Disgraced the Nobel Peace Prize by accepting a fake one from FIFA and then accepting the real one from the actual recipient of the award.
Gone golfing nearly every weekend at the expense of tens of millions of dollars in taxpayer money, even as the nation is still trapped in a war he started.
Mocked the killing of Rob Reiner and celebrated the death of Robert Mueller.
Made Vladimir Putin look stronger by continually kissing his backside while being no closer to ending the war in Ukraine — despite promising he could do it “very easily… with one phone call.”
Worn a baseball hat to a dignified transfer ceremony.
Essentially "legalized" insider trading and market manipulation by selling early access to his social media posts for $100k a month.
Sued his own government, trying to create a $1.8 billion trust fund for himself and give him and his family complete immunity from the IRS.
Screwed up repairs on the Reflecting Pool, then unsuccessfully tried to prosecute innocent Americans rather than simply admit he made a mistake.
The list goes on and on.
So let’s all give Trump credit — he’s right. He’s done things no other president could ever have hoped to accomplish as quickly as he’s accomplished all of it.
Because no other president could ever be as incompetent, corrupt, or unethical as he is.
