Does anyone know what CAW's get for a "kickback" from the tracks? I was told the CAWs make their money on the rebates. But where is the profit for the track compared to the everyday bettor
Obviously, The Meadows does not care about on-track handle. They are not going to get people with any money at the track on a workday afternoon.
Purses are what matter to horsemen not handle.
Right and that is why the fans/customers are long gone. Lets end the handouts and see what matters.
You fucking clowns don't realize that big gamblers play at tracks with large handles. They don't play at tracks where 500 bucks makes a horse 4/5. Get a fucking clue assholes. That is why they play at M1. It's the only harness track where you can bet 5 grand on a horse and the odds aren't decimated. Also, any retard that thinks that handle isn't important to horsemen is just plain ignorant.

What’s a CAW ?
Is it worth it for the CAWS to bet 'big money' into the Meadowlands? Are the pools larger at the Big M? Yes. However you are not betting into pools like Saratoga Tbreds where CAW bets would be less noticeable. Is it worth 'stepping on' your own money to get lower mutuels if you win? How much are the rebates attached to this? Do the rebates make up for the losses/add to the profits?
