Maybe the best pacer ever ngc3
I am happy for him as well.
As I said earlier, that race was now or never
Doc said after the race.. maybe Simcoe and or LBJ in the future
I would love to see him in person in Delaware  tmbz1
If not see him at Scioto in October
Hopefully both

He was better than last start but the small field played to his favor IMO! I'm inclined tobelieve that he probably would have been beat again by a full field of competitive rivals.Did he win ? Yes, but the short field played to his favor.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3mLhshCsJlE      Video of race. Trainer now considering the LBJ because he has nothing to lose. Moore was acting like the competition was real tough.

Helps to get a trip even in a short field.  Trips have been brutal prior to this.

Agreed, but he really motored home once he got in gear mid-stretch and looked like he could have gone another 1/8-1/4 at that rate as he came over the line.
McDonald did not abuse the horse, but, as many have noted, if it had been a field of 8 and McDonald had driven him like that he might never have gotten out.

I doubt there was a bigger "fan" of BJ here than me. Absolutely, it's nice that he won, hopefully he's healthy, and so on. But, as much as I was a big time fan of the horse, let's not go down the road of "he's back" so quickly. Short, and so-so at best field, easy fractions, big last quarter, and while he wasn't abused and all out, he was closer to all out than he was in hand. Yes, he had to close into a 25.2 last quarter, and sure, that's a very strong finish, but how he did what he did is a long way from "he's back." IMO, he was an exceptional colt, very, very talented, with perhaps unlimited potential. He was light years ahead of the class as a 2yo. He just didn't progress, move forward, come back better, and so on at 3, and the rest of the class caught up to him. I am sure getting a bit sick didn't help matters either, but if he didn't, I am not sure it would have made a difference. I hope he gets back to 100%. Still a fan.

Doc Moore speaks! ----Moore said he tries to stay off social media. Told that Beau’s less-than-optimal 3-year-old season, to date, has some of the colt’s critics questioning whether the pacer should have been the Horse of the Year last year – particularly from those that were against a 2-year-old that never left Canada winning top honors in the first place – Moore doesn’t hesitate. “That’s total horses - - -, in my opinion,” he said. “He’s the champion, period. He was one of the best 2-year-olds of all time.” You can hear his ire and competitive spirit rising. “Wouldn’t it be nice if we could finish the year well now and MAKE THEM EAT IT” Moore said of the colt’s critics, before he softened somewhat to provide a realistic assessment for the rest of Beau Jangles’ sophomore season.

I absolutely agree with Moore on that. It's a BS, fallacious argument. He was the champion, received whatever accolades and awards he received, and didn't come back to meet expectations as a 3yo. People can argue all they want-----Moore did this, 12 starts was too many, they shouldn't have named him champion, whatever. It's all nonsensical rhetoric. As far as making people eat their words, I'd love to see it, but I just don't think it's probable. I am sorry to say he just doesn't look like the same horse. I wish it weren't true. Who knows, maybe this last start is his first start in being healthy, moving forward, getting better, stronger, etc.
