Art Official won the Cane at Freehold a month later(after M1 Pace) then wasn't very good after that.

Class act, SBSW of course but I particularly liked Village Jasper. Won the Confederation Cup
back when it was 3 yr old race. Interesting enough, The Provincial Cup was just the opposite, as they
raced older horse like Cardigan Bay, then made it a 3 yr old race,  before they go shut down. sad

Yes he won his LBJ elim but was extremely steppy all day long

Pierce did a masterful job holding him together

Seekman refused an interview after the shaky elim--he wasn't happy

Shadow Play crushed the field in The Final and it was no contest

a month later AO did pace a meaningless 49 mile at Lexington but a lot of horses did

he was a dud as a stud

Remember I told you Ricardo Santana wasn't on the #3 in the second race today. If you google, Paulick Report, Wrong Jockey Listed for Saratoga Race, there's a big story about it.

Paul seems like a great guy and he showed his class when he gave up the drive on Beach Glass. However, he did make a bad decision in the Meadowlands Pace which is why SBSW did not retire undefeated. That was a race he could have won.

losing the meadowlands pace was unfortunate
however over time it became less of a negative
one of the greatest if not the greatest  race horses of all time
hands down the best combination of race horse and sire for a pacer by far
