Canada needs the US more than the US needs Canada because of population and because Canada has a relatively narrow economy.
Too much of it is based on the natural resource sector.

Canada has to and has started to diversify. Less America and more Europe and Asia.

I don't disagree. I'm just saying forge new relations with new partners where it works and lessen the dependency on America where possible. America should be the partner of last resort going forward instead of being the default.
