JOHN FRANK ARMY needs to say a few tins:
(1) A TB horse bought for $350,000 is not a cheap buy. And those goin for higher certainly are not guareenteed a WIN their first time out as a 2 year old.
(2) These boys or girls are unpredictable, when they startin out. Some still learnin the gate and even though they normally have plenty of works are still shy.
(3) Never been a fan of 2 year olds running. THEY STILL NEED to GROW and a lot of injuries can occur as youngsters.
(4) Don't know this pony or how long the race was or the track condition, but Pletcher has a ton of high priced young colts and not everyone wins. Spending money don't make a WINNER.
(5) I myself have never owned a pony, but know plenty who have.Purchasing is a crap shoot and obviously you need discretionary income.Lots of these youngsters make their first start and go all out. Then they end up with a bowed tendon and off for next 9 months. So with that bein said. On first out they run lightly just to get the feel of running competitvly agains others, unless of course your name was WAYNE LUCAS.
