Red Mile is back with $4500-$6000 Purses....
« on: Today at 02:13:11 PM »
I remember racing at Yonkers a $10k claimer in the late

1970's for a $6000 Purse...

Now 50 years later Red Mile is offering the same

lousy inflation adjusted Purse.

Equal to a $1500 Purse 1978 approximately.

0 Wagering at the Red Mile....Beautiful Track

but no one bets....No Handle.

Sorry to lay this on ya.

PS.   Maiden races at the Kentucky T bred tracks

are around $100,000...and those are overnites!!

Harness Maiden overnites $4000-12,000

Wake up...

The Ky powers that be are pushing the Tbreds...

a few crumbs are thrown to the "Harness Folks"

to make it look like Kentucky racing is prospering.

Pacer2 should be around soon to remind you how much harness racing is thriving. He lives in the city of Denial.

PS.   Red Mile example of wagering 2nd Race

       $8000 Purse (not bad)

 $1.00 Exacta
 5/2 $7.52

 $5,309.58    Total Pool

  $1.00 Trifecta
 5/2/4 $53.63

$4,595.94     Total Pool

  $0.20 Superfecta
 5/2/4/1 $30.88

   $3,050.44     Total Pool

  $1.00 Daily Double
 6/5 $4.02

      $2,762.57    Total Pool

    Monticello and Saratoga handle more.

    And this is trriving?

If you do the math Red Mile is losing $$

    on every race...

How long will the beancounters keep throwing $$

    at a losing game?

Dont tell me historical race slots will do it.

Pacer2 spends all day digging deep to find anything positive and posts it so he can say harness racing is thriving. Everyone knows once the handouts stop, and some will before too long, purses will drop significantly and a few more tracks will wind up closing.

Just like quite a few others here on plop!

How come the Red Mile doesn't get any slot money, etc. from the state of Kentucky?
