Somewhere along the way Mike you went from a likeable and reasonable guy advocating for decency for the sport to someone that just wants to be in the spotlight to feed your fragile ego. Calling out Hanover for not being perfect when they suffer a terrible tragedy is different than calling out trainers for horse/drug abuse. The former is vindictive while the latter is admirable. I don't think you can see the difference anymore, maybe time to take a step back from the spotlight. And please don't try to sell the even-minded folks about that fool trigger, you just make yourself look even more desperate. Do better my friend.
This is almost exactly where I find myself on this.I am not sure what we are supposed to take from this video.I am ADAMANT about appropriate horse care. Hanover having an absolute tragedy based on spring weather that is absolutely bonkers is not a good use of this energy toward improving the industry.Yes, clearly Hanover is going to take a look at how they manage manure removals based on this. But what are Mike and I guess Trigger trying to land on this? Shut down Hanover? Are we supposed to focus on "hitting a mare" to get it out of your space as evidence of abuse? Bc I have news for you, they're a lot bigger than us, and if they are aggressively in your space you better get them out. Is that the story here? Do you not want to focus on the other storyline, which is Hanover - no questions asked - will bail a horse they bred that ends up in a killpen?I don't get it. And I do support the eradication of horse abusers, 100%. This is the wrong story.
Ever listen to my disclaimer? I offer the platform, what they say is their story or opinion. The guy called in out of the blue during the livestream. But he's not the only one, and it's worse than I ever knew. Who said shut down Hanover? I said MOVE THE FUCKING PILES TO PROPER BINS. That's all, why risk it. Next.
No, I don't know that I've listened to the disclaimer. I know a lot of people have come and gone from Hanover. But I guess I, personally, wouldn't try to incite much based on an accident they're clearly kicking themselves for. I assume based on what I know about HSF, they're going to fix the issues.
You're the Jerry Springer of harness racing, incapable of civil discourse. And your disclaimer is just a legal tightrope act, just as Springer would get those hillbillies to sign a waiver before they went on his show to provide entertainment, always unwittingly at their own expense. You're no different, you look for carnage and you give it life. It's tired and pathetic and I think 80% of the people see it for what it is: a mechanism to help keep you in the spotlight and feed your deflated ego.
I repeat, MOVE THE FUCKING PILES TO PROPER BINS. I was actually stunned that Hanover of all places had any of them set up like that. I expect better because of who they are. There's a difference between accidents and ignorance. Just move them and reduce the risk. It's not that difficult to understand. And when people call in to express themselves it does NOT mean I agree with them or disagree. I offer the platform to speak.
Just stop Mike, you're making a fool of yourself.
Mike, I agree. Hanover does have the wherewithal to store things differently, and again, I am certain they will after this horrific tragedy. I understand you open your platform to anyone to speak, but I don't understand the benefit to the sport in this particular instance. I, perhaps erroneously, assumed that was your focus - improving the sport.I hope you can find some willing participants in a few of the actively racing stables to comment..but I suspect, sadly, you won't.
I'm not the one who's hurting the sport. Anything happening to the sport is either self inflicted OR people are afraid to speak out. I repeat, I offer the platform for people to speak if they so choose. I will never filter what they have to say. As for my opinion....MOVE THE PILES INTO PROPER BINS. That goes for anywhere not just Hanover. But because it is Hanover I expect the best without discussion or hesitation. Be the example others should follow, what's wrong with that?
Everyone raising or keeping horses can do it better. EVERYONE, because at the end of the day, the horses could raise themselves in the absence of us.I do not understand the glory in pointing out their mistakes that cost horses they own their lives. This could happen to any horse-keeper. I can't imagine accidentally - and with the best of intentions - being responsible for the death of horses I own, and being dragged through it as a result. Yes I am sure they could have done better. They are also painfully aware, I am sure. It's in bad taste. That's my opinion. Please focus your energy on people ao are knowingly doing wrong.
"Yes I am sure they could have done better. They are also painfully aware, I am sure.".....That's called negligence. If you're aware and do nothing? Get it? But I haven't said that, you did. I'm say very simply....MOVE THE FUCKING MANURE INTO PROPER BINS. That goes for everyone. Reduce the risk of losing the animals and your property. The End.
