The facility is beautiful, and yes, the top drivers are away on vacation. But NO ONE would have ever dreamed years ago that the quality of racing would be so bad. They have low-class conditions now that many tracks don't even list thier condition sheet. Years ago, the minimum class was a $20,000 claimer. Now it's the feature race of the day. Owners and trainers would all rush to race at the Big M, for the purses were the best in the country. Now, many tracks on the East Coast have far, far better purses. When the top drivers come back, more of the young horses will come out, and thier will be more stakes races, but even then, the overall quality of racing will be very poor. FAR FAR below what years ago was the thrill of racing at the BIG M.
