Yet earlier you said he made tip money...so clearly you have no clue what you are talking about and just guessing. For what most guys race for and horsemen struggling to make it, tipping is not what it was many years ago. 30 years or more ago I would agree with you. Just not the norm anymore.
I remember men having to have a jacket to get into the club house. Owners would go to the barn after the races.
At Monticello today! Awaiting updates!
Rainman above said he personally tipped Bret after a win. Most owners tip for a win. So either you're calling him a LIAR or you HAVE NO CLUE! I'm guessing the HAVE NO CLUE for you!
You claimed he got hundreds a night and several on here said he refuses tips. Sounds like a couple of you are full of shit. And I already knew from a very reliable source he doesn't take tips before I posted dummy. If Rainman did give one that he accepted, it was a while ago. Kid is a class act by saying give it to the grooms.
FYI, I DID IT, and it was a few years ago along with many other drivers over time!
Yeah I told Harness Racer most owners tip for a win. He still argues!
You are crazy if you think most owners tip for wins...some maybe, but not most. How could people racing for peanuts at Monti or Vernon afford to give a tip after already losing 10% to the driver/trainer? I believe it to be in the minority of owners still tipping.
We always bet for the driver and the groom.
Of course. Harness Racer doesnt know racing....
