No shot!  You are clueless how things work anymore.  You’re giving a tip to a guy who just made $2k+ in a night?

I have tipped my drivers after winning a race for me!

It's a form of "greasing the wheel"!  If they have a choice between choosing on/off, this could sway their decision.

FYI, I've tipped Brett after winning a race with a horse that I owned a part of.

Driver wins a race and Puts $10,000  in my pocket for the winner's share. Tip well worth it.

Heck, I'll go to a restaurant with the family and leave a $50 tip because they say you are supposed to

What if the driver gives a bad drive that costs you money, is it his job to reimburse you what he cost you?

Not as half as dumb as you. That's my reasoning for not tipping the driver.

You own a horse you pay the bills. You accept the outcome! You know this going into the business!

As an owner, you hope the driver can admit to a bad drive.
You can always make sure you don’t get the same driver again.

6 drives, one 2nd place finish. Alot of outside posts. Hardly worth the 175-mile drive from Saratoga,

  WOW!  One of a kind.

Yet earlier you said he made tip money...so clearly you have no clue what you are talking about and just guessing.  For what most guys race for and horsemen struggling to make it, tipping is not what it was many years ago.  30 years or more ago I would agree with you.  Just not the norm anymore.

I now know that there is a very minute number of people in harness racing who really care about their horses once they are not able to race/breed anymore. Those who don't carfe deserve their place in hell.
