The Mighty M was famous for those kind of promotions since the early 80's. The MLK pace for all black drivers. The Passover Pace for all Jewish drivers. The all Lady Drivers pace usually won by Bea Farber. The All Family pace, usually the whole Manzi family. To name a few.
Can someone explain to me why there is a race containing all African American drivers in observance of MLK? What is the connection between MLK and Harness Racing? I am sure there is a legitimate reason but I have been dropped on my head too many times to figure out what it is.
Wouldn't it make more sense to honor an African American that actually was part of Harness Racing. How about honoring Lew Williams.
Yeah and what happened to Washington and Lincoln‘s birthday all lumped into Presidents’ Day! Not to mention Black History Month where is white history month!!??
