I've always believed the country would run so much better if we eliminated the 2 party system and everyone ran as an Independent. It would reduce so much of the hatred and finger pointing that goes on between people of the opposing party. It would also improve the gridlock that goes on when one party won't budge just because they can. I doubt it will happen in my lifetime if ever because both parties are too stubborn to admit it would make things alot better for everybody.

Sadly, the days of bi-partisan legislation through compromise is long gone. The polarization of both political parties have balkanized the nation. President Trump has caused too much havoc as his policies is all the news can report. It's almost hard to keep up with what he does and says day to day. But next November, when the GOP loses 20-25 seats in the House, we will have divided government again.
