Nothing will happen. The big-name trainers appeals last year's. This week's races will be filled with his horses.  The Big M needs him to fill fields.

Do you really believe that Gural et al are going to give someone a pass because they need him to fill races?

Currently--about how many YR trainers does Gural have on his banned(sorry, banded) list?

He had  5 horses racing at Mlands Saturday. 2 in the open (finished 1,2. $9.80 win, heavy favorite 2 nd). 2 chalk and a 26-1 , none win.  Lots of full fields , they don’t need him to fill races .  Beckwith couldnt get any of the 3 heavy favorites home.  Strange .

It's not like this guy did not have any positive tests. There's no vague conduct detrimental to the sport. No witch hunts. IIRC, the positive(s) were for oxycodone, carisoprodol, and meprobamate. What's he fighting, 380 days? If Gural said he set a deadline, I'd like to see him stick to it. If he doesn't, I'd like proof-positive reasons why. Throw this guy out and watch what happens. If, and it's a huge if, but if you have trouble filling a few races, it will be short-lived. Good riddance.

This is a travesty of epic proportions.

Gural says no Per in 2026 unless reversed. I guess we can’t trust Gurals word anymore, I’ve lost all respect for him, a man that can’t keep his word is

  • dougie: IIB, I think the mayor will sign the bill if it reaches his desk. The optics on this issue is bad for the horse carriage industry. Animal activists are adept to using the media to enlist horror and anger by the public.

  • Ignorance Is Bliss: It's now a bill with city council. Public hearings will be scheduled then the council votes on it. If passed it's sent to the Mayor to sign into law. He has already said he's in. Marte just took over, Bob Holden is the actual author of the bill who retired last year.

  • dougie: IIB, I have been reading some of the work Councilman Marte has been doing on this issue. I think he might be successful with passing the 'Ryders Law" Bill this time around. The image of the horse dead on the street has even been seen here everywhere. If the animal activists can get this on the ballot, who knows how the vote will go.
