Meadowlands Pace news!
« on: December 26, 2025, 01:52:23 PM »
One of the most influential stakes races for the glamour boy 3-year-old male pacing division, The Meadowlands Pace went for $656,000 in 2025. In ’26, it will go for $806,000 – an increase of 23 percent – in the event there are no eliminations for a second straight year, which would represent the biggest purse (USD) in North America for a pacing event!

They probably cut the purse of some other stake races or eliminated them entirely to boost up the purse.

The Meadowlands Pace purse was $1,293,000 in 1984, which then has a purchasing power today of $4,033,587.55.

In 2026, 42 years later after On The Road Again won the purse will be $806,000 ngc3

Wizardofjizz, go tell Jeff Gural to go fuck himself.  Then do the same.  ngc3

Thank you!   ;D

Pathetic!

The reason why cheating, drugs, CAW is so pervasive and will be in that race too - ALL those things ending harness racing.

Get it through your numbskulls the golden days of racing are over.

This is an embarrassment and an insult and organized crime.

Be like the honest horseman and take your scraps until there is no more, you've done nothing to make racing better, just beggars for a little more until it ends.

Let the thieves that you're either jealous of or praise take the rest, as usual when you could of made them gone and brought integrity back to this fucking mess and worked back to those golden days.

You and the honest horseman, and the regulatory who are corrupt too, along with Jeffy and Team are all COWARDS!

IT WAS UNBELIEVABLE IN THE DAY.  HOW ABOUT THE LOUNGE IN TH BACKSTRETCH AT THE EAST END OF THE TRACK. HOW ABOUT THE SIGN IN THE TRACK KITCHEN "YOU CAN EAT YOUR BETTING MONEY BUT DON'T BET YOUR EATING MONEY".THE STAKE RACES ARE STILL GREAT BUT OVERNIGHT RACING IS REALLY SAD. :'(

Jeff Gural, AKA "the slumlord", has not saved the Meadowlands. The Meadowlands, on Saturday nights, would race $100K claimers, Invites/Opens, $50K-$75K claimers. What Jeff Gural, AKA "the slumlord", has actually saved, is Freehold. That is what the Meadowlands has become, Freehold. He has done this while lining his pockets with sweetheart deals from politicians, while crying poverty. Vernon Downs, Tioga, and the new Freehold all run by "the slumlord", Jeff Gural.

 tmbz1 Wow!

Very, very smart and no one thought about it like that and no one said it, and all the conspicuous elements and happenings in front of our eyes and ears all along.

I'm seeking a further wisdom lesson, I'm going to read all your posts tonight.  Thank you Silent One!

  • dougie: IIB, I think the mayor will sign the bill if it reaches his desk. The optics on this issue is bad for the horse carriage industry. Animal activists are adept to using the media to enlist horror and anger by the public.

  • Ignorance Is Bliss: It's now a bill with city council. Public hearings will be scheduled then the council votes on it. If passed it's sent to the Mayor to sign into law. He has already said he's in. Marte just took over, Bob Holden is the actual author of the bill who retired last year.

  • dougie: IIB, I have been reading some of the work Councilman Marte has been doing on this issue. I think he might be successful with passing the 'Ryders Law" Bill this time around. The image of the horse dead on the street has even been seen here everywhere. If the animal activists can get this on the ballot, who knows how the vote will go.
