I wonder if they can figure what the handle is down by individuals, as in real people betting. I know the computer groups represent a tremendous amount of the handle, but individuals just don't attend any more. Hawthorne, this last weekend, had huge purses compared to the handle and harness racing should be able to stand on it's own but that day is over.

Despite an a period of great inflation due to the injection of dollars from the Covid era, harness racing continues to bleed.  The numbers are far worse when that is taken into consideration.  The participants, in general, are the only ones to blame for that.  Such an insulated, small pool of individuals, not seeking anything from the outside but money.  Try looking for new talent, most businesses do.

Glad to see you have had enough, I quit owning years ago when Oakes kept kicking my ass, come to find out he had a huge advantage. We would ship down to Poconowith the favorite and we never had a legitimate chance.

For me this is a huge topic as to me HOoSIER PARK was the most fair racetrack on the planet as you could be fourth over and just sweep by with a honest pace but today this track caters to drug trainers as its a speed highway,    At one time i really believed GABE PRUITT who knows the game well would be one guy that seemed to care but i was dead wrong as to me he is just another suit,              If you told me 20 years ago that a driver like AARON MERRIMAN Would lead the nation in wins with a drive hard from start to finish every drive on every card i would never believe this could happen,     To me HOSSIER rates with WESTERN FAIR and MOHAWK AND dover were its  a chalk fest with racing that is hard to watch and every race at these tracks it a 1-5 who is tough to bet but they seem to win in todays racing.
