Promises he needs to get approved by the city council. That's at the minimum. If they do approve, yeah the city is fucked. I can tell you right now it's the worst I've ever seen it. Maybe only comparable to pre Giuliani when he turned Times Square into Disneyland or even the 70s. Every day there's someone being stabbed or pushed off a subway platform. EVERYWHERE there are homeless and most are fucking insane. Garbage back on the streets and sidewalks.

The free bus rides would have to be approved by the NYC transit authority board, which is unlikely. The governor may have some input but it's an extremely long shot that free rides will come to fruition.

Fuck that, how about some credits (create a value) toward a co-op  / condo conversion where you semi-own, like a credit for every decade you've lived in that building, then send them to HUD for first time home buyer.

City-Owned Grocery Stores: A plan to create city-run grocery stores to increase food access, with one store in each of the five boroughs.

Government cheese, them were the days  , 5lb blocks of cheese wrapped in plastic, in a cardboard box that would turn green within 2 weeks given to everyone rich or poor    Bring that back for a giggle, emergency bottled water, a few things...but you got to work, SNAP already is free food...this will not work.

Regardless of how many of his campaign promises he keeps is the possible damage nationwide to the Democrat party. If he screws up badly by implementing one of his ideas he might be used as an example in future elections of what can be expected when voting for a socialist Democrat, that same rule applies to the other socialist Democrats running for public office in other areas of the country.
There might be high stakes that can impact future elections here. Especially for those politicians who backed such candidates.
