More races are lost in the first quarter than in the last quarter. !!!

I’ve been at track for most of races by louprint. He did not warm up like he usually does. On the flip side, Sippin on seroc warmed up tremendous. I’m sure there will be a good reason why Louprint not himself on saturday nite. Like another poster said, He did get a lil steppy going into first turn. Hopefully it’s nothing serious and we’ll see the real Louprint before the year is over.

Parked the entire 1:47.3 mile is why he had nothing at the end of the mile.

When at his best, I think Louprint is the top colt, but searoc is definitely a high-quality animal who deserved a signature win.

Aside from the conjecture, Burke simply had to be disappointed. His top ranked, undefeated 3yo colt gets beat in the elimination, although he wins if the race goes another step or two. Then he comes back and gets beat in the final. Call it racing luck, bad trip, whatever. Burke had to be disappointed. If he's not, he's in the wrong business, LOL. He's very competitive. He expects to win. Stablemate wins, different ownership, stallion deal, and so on. Unless you're his best friend, therapist, or whatever, it's all conjecture, LOL.

I think Wrenn was indecisive heading into the first turn. He hesitated. But, that's easy to say after the fact and from the grandstand. He was the leader of the pack and drove him well through an undefeated 10 starts this year. But with this colt part of driving him well is simply keeping him out of trouble. But that ain't gonna cut it in the big dances. Not always. Listen, super nice colt. The best in class this year. But nobody was talking about him like a SBSW, not has a horse and not as a stallion. If they want to make a stallion out of him, and he's OK, Burke will race him back and showcase him to overcome the disappointing BC. I guess we'll see.

But he DID win, keep in mind. I think the no-show in the winner's circle is a bit unprofessional, personally. I know there's some common ownership, but not all. I think i'd be a bit miffed if my horse won the BC final and the trainer wasn't in the WC to celebrate, because he was disappointed by another in the same stable's performance. But that's simply my opinion.

Ron Burke is a hillbilly, plain and simple. He just has the gas to make them go, plain and simple.

No gas needed, he'll race him back. Race him next year I doubt it, he's got another stallion. I don't think that race will define his career one way or another. Maybe the wrong horse won, Ronnie still won the race and the $

- Burke more or less acted the same way last year when Searock almost caught LouPrint at the wire in the BC Final.  Said he was happier that LouPrint won since he was a homebred and by Sweet Lou

- The loss may have cost LouPrint horse of the year

- I think the elim loss and way Jason drove Dandy Ideal paved the way for the final.  He wasn’t scared and then others saw that.  Prior to that LouPrint was afforded the opportunity to make it to the front easily and in whatever way he wanted.  I think drivers get lazy with these top horses that overpower.

I know he won. As far as your thoughts on RB's actions being unprofessional, you being miffed, etc.; fair enough. I can see that.

I know you knew that tmbz1

The point I was trying to make is, one might expect the winning trainer to be in the winner's circle and given the circumstances, the impression it gave struck me as unprofessional. One might expect him to be gallant in defeat..which didn't even really happen, so even moreso.

I think that Louprint's drivers pedigree started showing itself the last couple of starts.

I think that Louprint's drivers pedigree started showing itself the last couple of starts.

That's a fair point. Wrenn drove him well all throughout the year, and most importantly, in the big dances when it takes a real driver to do that. The NA Cup and the Jug. In those two, he was by far the best, but Wrenn still had to face all comers when the big money was on the line. The Tattersalls and the PA Final, yes, he got the job done. The horse was still much the best. As the season goes on, it can take a toll, maybe some get a bit better, stronger, etc., one loses a step or two, others gain, and so on. It happens. Like the NA Cup, less perhaps with the Jug, but the BC is a stallion making race. Everyone is hoping to be at their best. It's different in October than it is in June.

Personally, and I said it on another thread, I think Wrenn was indecisive heading into the first turn. I think he hesitated. Yes, it's easy to say after the fact and from the grandstand. This horse was the head of the class and Wrenn drove him that way through 10 undefeated starts. Sometimes, just keeping a horse like this out of trouble is all it takes. But not in the big dances. Not always. He's a super nice horse. The best in class this year. But he's not one of the all-time greats, not as a racehorse, and not as a stallion, IMO.
