Yeah thats bad. Like I said before
Many years ago when he was at Dover probably around 87 or 88. Another horseman that I knew said he went to Mark's residents and he said his basement was like a lab loaded with stuff that Mark used for pre race concoctions! He said you wouldn't believe the set up he had!

True story!

And the majority of the people in the game will just keep taking it dry up the ass and let this happen. I still read people in the game including the photographer up there praising this guy like they're carrying him through the fucking streets on their shoulders. PATHETIC.

For many years, I blamed the horsemen for not coming forward and ratting on cheaters. I have changed my way of thinking on that and the reason is that I know for a fact that certain people called the FBI, State Police and Attorney General and was told they needed actual evidence for them to do anything. Well, I feel that there is plenty of evidence possessed by those authorities and they have done NOTHING!!! This bullshit of testing horses is not working. Why aren't the authorities obtaining search warrants and raiding some of these criminals'homes? No one is going to convince me that there isn't enough probable cause for judges to sign off on search warrants.

This is the sentiment of 95% of the horseman in NY and Saratoga. The entire world knows that Saratoga is completely run by a criminal enterprise. One that runs from zero penalties for class A positives to manipulated draws. Putting Mark Beckwith in the hall of fame is just another reason nobody acknowledges it's foolishness. Two of the last 4 people nominated refused the nomination. So here we are. Watching Jay Randall (who deserves whatever honor there is) entering with one of the businesses greatest criminals. Horses in %50 of the barns. Non stop positive tests year after year after year for HORMONES, sheepwormer etc). One of Seth Fischmans biggest clients who still uses BB3! And Saratoga hall of fame enters someone with all of this as well as being barred from multiple tracks that are only a few hours away. Ignorance is bliss is exactly right. The people just sit back and take it. Year after year they rob the locals. Positive? Put them in Marks name. The track actually allowed them to put Melissa back down again!! How long till the testosterone shows up for the 7th time? Saratoga gets what they deserve. And the hall of fame is about as relevant as the employee of the month at Market 32.

Mark is a great guy, but he doesn’t belong in the Hall of Fame because of his underhanded tactics in regards to pre-racing horses.

How can he be a great guy if he uses underhanded tactics in regard to pre-racing horses, you can't have it both ways.

  • dougie: IIB, I think the mayor will sign the bill if it reaches his desk. The optics on this issue is bad for the horse carriage industry. Animal activists are adept to using the media to enlist horror and anger by the public.

  • Ignorance Is Bliss: It's now a bill with city council. Public hearings will be scheduled then the council votes on it. If passed it's sent to the Mayor to sign into law. He has already said he's in. Marte just took over, Bob Holden is the actual author of the bill who retired last year.

  • dougie: IIB, I have been reading some of the work Councilman Marte has been doing on this issue. I think he might be successful with passing the 'Ryders Law" Bill this time around. The image of the horse dead on the street has even been seen here everywhere. If the animal activists can get this on the ballot, who knows how the vote will go.
