NYSS Finals
« on: September 07, 2025, 07:22:51 PM »
I know this young Beckwith driver has some potential, but why would a trainer use him in these big 300,000 races in the NYSS finals. It seems like it would be a disadvantage for one.,

The true disadvantage was having the finals at Batavia..and the ones that drew posts 6-8

What's even worse is having the International Trot at Yonkers with all those foreign horses who probably have never raced on a 1/2 mile track before.

The real injustice is that Faraldo puts up a million bucks and pays for the foreign horse’s expenses. When he refuses to contribute to the Yonkers Trot or Messenger. Guaranteed he’s getting kick backs.

I get the outside is the kiss of death. But, with YR being the home of the final for so many years, I just figured it was fait accompli. Why not have points/dollars dictate post position draw? Do the horses that did the best throughout the SS season deserve to avoid post 7 or 8 in the final?
