Porter needs to be set down , whatever the maximum is.  No regard for anything or anybody, just whipping and slashing.

Yes, he totally ran his horse off her feet! No rating or caution at all!
They’re not Race cars! He needs suspended maybe indefinitely, after that horrible driving there!

5 horses ultimately made it over the finish line with their drivers of the 8 that started.

Porter on the #4 was beating the shit out of his horse on the backstretch to the point of unnecessary, and that's who took a knee down and caused the chain accident reaction.

Ran her off her feet🤷🏼‍♀️ -or his?

That horse that caused it just arrived from another trainer/owner, what a shame some trainer probably knew the horse was dangerous
How was the horse dangerous? Porter ran her off her feet🙄

Wow another moron. Horse wasn’t dangerous you moron. Trae porter pulled a Joe bongiorno.   Horse was done and he was still pushing and pushing hand holds behind his back. Pushing and hitting. Finally horse went down and caused a wreck.  If I got hurt because of a driver like this I’d smash his hands so bad he wouldn’t be driving anymore period

Right! Exactly, I love it when people who know nothing about horses try to claim the horse who was RAN OFF THEIR FEET US dangerous 🙄🤷🏼‍♀️

Anyone with any updates today please post here.. that was scary looking last night. The incident is posted on the other thread I think from Mike's YouTube channel. Not for the faint of heart.

Still has 6 broken ribs and a shoulder (ouch) but certainly could've been much worse.

I agree that he should be handed a lengthy suspension.  When I went to watch the replay to see who all was involved and what exactly happened, I saw Porter pushing the 4 horse badly.  He was whipping and rocking back and forth in the bike.  USTA should review this and act accordingly.  Porter is a bit of a clown.  I didn't like him for similar reasons when he was driving at Rosecroft.   He is a bit cocky and too aggressive, seen it at Harrington also.  He thinks he is all that and that comes from when he was driving Wagner horses.

Fact is..he caused this accident last night and should be held accountable and reprimanded for it.   Horses following couldn't avoid his horse when he went down.  Hopefully horses are all okay and drivers.  It could have been much worse.  So glad it wasn't.   I'm just still surprised they continued racing.  I expected to see them cancel considering 2 were helicoptered out to a trauma hospital.   One thing for sure, Ocean Downs took care of the scary situation and people and EMS acted fast to help those injured.  I'm still baffled as to how the announcer missed 3 guys being launched in the air.  The replay shows it happening right behind the horse he was watching.   I'm sure he feels bad about it.  But he did stay calm and let everyone know who was involved after and what was going on.

I'm taking up for Frank here. He does a bang-up job and was focused on the winner drawing away when it happened and mentioned a track record in jeopardy and was probably looking at the timer to see if it was one.

But I did notice no mention of it after the wire. That seemed odd.

I will agree as I have mentioned before that his race calls are actually very good for the most part.  He has some laughable moments on the mic.   Lately he has been watching the timer a lot during races.  It was puzzling that after the wire you can see the outrider and several people running to go help and still no mention of what happened.  He was still talking about the winner and then nothing.  So strange

thank you--i agree 100%

Frank has witnessed more accidents than all of us-calling races for around 50 years

he was not watching the backfield--he was staring at the clock and missed it--certainly not due to incompetence, indifference or insensitivity

there was an unusual delay for him to finally say something-he was more likely caught off guard and felt bad for missing it in his call

there was no safety concern as it happened on the final turn-he surely would have called it if it was the first or 2nd turn-alerting the other drivers

as far as Trae-i am not sure what he was doing-he is having a career year being allowed to drive Primo Maschio, even in big races

Rick Still going down was ugly-i hope recovery goes quickly

Meanwhile, nothing on Ustrotting.com
Is it because Ocean didn’t send them anything?
I would think they would contact somebody at Ocean to get the story.  It’s not like nobody at Ustrotting weren’t aware.  Or was it?
