Finger Lakes Race 5
« on: August 19, 2025, 05:36:54 PM »
1-9 favorite was trouncing maiden claimers when he suddenly lost interest entering the stretch. Did not seem to have gone lame. This is why I never count my winnings, rare as they are, until the race is Official.

I watched the replay as few times the race caller didn't know what to say.. agreed didn't go lame just stopped on the final turn. Very odd. That horse was like.. "thats it I'm done"

Well, if the claiming tag was 5000 before the race, I would suggest not ordering burgers from Denny’s for awhile.

the horse blew the turn bolted badly

usually means they are sore on the left side

it was a $5k claimer and Finger Lakes--so they value of the horse is probably $500

having said all of that--he went off the 1-20 favorite

At the post, he was 3-5, the eventual winner 9-5. Quite a shift to 1-20 and 7-1.

I watch and wager there some.. CAW caused odds shifts big time. He was a huge class dropper from the Spa I believe

since they are allowed to bet after the bell --that saw how the favorite was looking then bet heavily

even though they lost--they had the advantage

serves them right for picking on Finger Lakes bettors

Why does anyone bet a crap track with small pools when you have Saratoga running? The horses absolutely suck and this is what can happen betting garbage. If you are lucky to hit long shots in a trifecta or superfecta at Saratoga, you can collect so much more than if the same thing happens at a track like Finger Lakes. It is so much worse at the smaller harness tracks where superfecta pools can often be less than $1,000.
