SPA Day XXVI, Thursday, 8/14/25
« on: August 14, 2025, 10:13:53 AM »
September 1, a Monday, also Labor Day is closing day of the SPA, just a reminder, I hope y'all have been enjoying it :).  A 10 race card starting at 110pm with one stakes that wraps up with the finale at 619pm today.

The weather at the SPA looks very nice, mild humidity, temperatures ranging from the high 70's to mid 80's.  Very slight chance of non-impactful precipitation, likely FAST & FIRM surfaces.

Woodbine this Saturday, 8/16, has some big stakes races with their flagship race that day, The King's Plate.

For the standardbred player today - Harrah's Chester has some nice stakes today, Mohawk Sucker Track too has some great horses running there and in their stakes races.

See ya later with selections and wagers.  Good Luck!   ;D

$172.90 in wagers in for the early part of the day.  The SPA ($68.90) & Harrah's Chester ($104):

SPA

Race 1 (110pm) 1235 / leaning on 1 & 5 for value.  4 or 6 are there I need to have my head examine because I just don't see it.

Harrah's Chester

Race 1 (1225pm) 1/23

Race 5 (145pm) 1/all

The first race alone is baffling and I haven't gone further, but I'm taking a break from stakes turf.  So here is a MDN Special Weight in race 1.  4&6 the only experience for this distance and on the dirt and at the SPA and I'm tossing both because they both folded while crawling their last race there together.

Still it's Nuts!  ;D

I watched the replay of the 4 & 6's last race, the head on...the jockey falls off the 2 a few feet out of the gate and the rest of the horses are going in different directions.  Very awkward, but no major excuses for them.

Yeh, not very exciting watching Harrah's reminds me of qualifier races.

Horses with pep just lay there around and around the track.

No one drives like their life depends on it.

I don't mean a free for all, whipping and slashing, but make a fucking move you cock suckers, something beyond lethargy.

Every driver should have electrodes on their balls, on minor irritation.

After the race, when the horse is safe, raise it, and hit it for those deserving!   ;D
