He came on very strong to win the Hastings Invitation race. Just raced on the 4th. at Plainridge. Don’t know if that’s good or bad?

He finished 2nd at Plainridge 8/4 and won at Hoosier yesterday, 8/8.

Sometimes they like to race tight, that's a good question for a trainer for sure.

As a gambler I look at the lifetime pps of the horse to see if they fit that pattern of performance, race back in less than a week.

IMHO horses can race even the same day in more than one race and do well. There are many examples of this in championship races like the old Hambo where you had to do well in a heat and the final in the same day.
On the TB side back in past times a trainer named Oscar Barrera sr would run a horse back after 4 days regularly.

It only changed a few years ago, but the LBJ  had a possibility of a 3rd heat as well. Heat racing is a thing of the past.. never to be seen again. The only time bringing them back to quickly is a bad thing is for 2 year olds like the Clegg Clan does.

The 2 yos I've seen have a lot of energy and favor working out, racing closer together.  That is from what I've analyzed.

One equine vet I know would never race a horse at 2, something about  allowing their bones to grow, close, I forgot what he said maybe the cannon bone.  Curlin, Zenyatta on the t-bred are the best of the best, never raced at 2.

  • Kirby's Cousin: I realize you're 3/4 of the way up Mike's butt, but why should you care who comes on Mike's show, you act like it's your show. Do you expect people to come on a show just to be ridiculed and have a big mouth like you hone in from time to time. What is the lure of coming on his show other than when you were on and kissed his butt the entire time?
