SPA Day XXI, Thursday, 8/7/25

Another beautiful day at the SPA scheduled for today.  Should be FAST & FIRM.

Weather looks wonderful, high 70's to low 80's, high humidity though.

I've got stakes races at Harrah's Chester, Harrah's Hoosier, Mohawk, 5 races in total there and a cheap claimer I'm following at Belterra 2nd race.  With the one SPA stakes race I'm going $108, the total budget for the day and the 7 races is $357 - magnum baby!   

5 1⁄2 Furlongs. (Turf) TMGalwayL150K, SPA, Race 7 (4:36pm)

My key horse will be the #12, Abientot, 8-1 ml odds.  Hot M. Casse Tnr / D. Davis Jky combo in last 14 days (5 2-1-1). 4 Races 1 - 0 - 2 $105,250 at this distance.  Has won the grade III Matron turf sprint from an outside post - and is dropping in company here.  Likes the SPA 2 races 1-0-1 record.  Love the fact the horse raced real well on a good turf race while usually not loving that type surface.  Drops 2lbs and is not a lasix user.  Hasn't worked out since last race which is unusual, maybe they're keeping it mysterious with private works and looking for a price?  Along with the 12, the 2,3,8,9,10,11, and all.

The SPA is FAST & FIRM, nice!   

My 7th race has the following scratches - 6,7,8,9,14,16.  Why they haven't scratched MTO #15 I dunno.  I'm even more revved on the #12 as she is moving inside with the scratches, which is a big plus considering she prefers a little longer like 6f on the turf.  I'll wait until they set the field and place and post my bets there.

I don't even listen to Andy Serling and if I did that's all I would do. 

12 is not really logical he could easily miss not because he doesn't have the horse, it's a 1/2 furlong short this race to her best ability.
