I met Doug way back, probably in the early 90's, in Ontario. A couple of years later, he sent a couple of horses to the Meadowlands, and he bought a horse of mine out of the old Phil Tully. He was a nice, young guy, and a hard worker. Doug started to do well, got a good owner or two, and was getting rolling. Unfortunately, as with many, success can sometimes breed greed, wanting more, etc., whatever. I don't know the reasons. He was racing in both Ontario and the Meadowlands, and unfortunately Doug went "to the dark side" so to speak.
My condolences to his family and friends.
