I met Doug way back, probably in the early 90's, in Ontario. A couple of years later, he sent a couple of horses to the Meadowlands, and he bought a horse of mine out of the old Phil Tully. He was a nice, young guy, and a hard worker. Doug started to do well, got a good owner or two, and was getting rolling. Unfortunately, as with many, success can sometimes breed greed, wanting more, etc., whatever. I don't know the reasons. He was racing in both Ontario and the Meadowlands, and unfortunately Doug went "to the dark side" so to speak.

My condolences to his family and friends.

He was part of the "golden age" of milkshakes in the 90,s...when he got suspended, Matt Moekeyns became his beard and eventually Matt was run out of town...David Harrington was one of his main owners and when Berkeley dissapeared so did Harrington
