A good samaritan who witnessed a Standardbred he has been seeing living in terrible condtions at Yonkers Raceway "Alaric - 3F596" for what he says has been years on May 15th 2025 reached out to Joseph Faraldo SOANY President/USTA Executive for help regarding this animal. On May 16th some of the responses from Mr. Faraldo were "Do not touch that horse. I am addressing it. I have an idea who owns that horse and I am reaching out. That is not your property and you will get in trouble. Pleas back off for your own damn good". Also, "The horse will be getting help". The horse is in Barn B1, Stall 5. There has also been concern by others including the marshall whose horses are in the same barn as to the welfare of this animal. According to all this horse has been stabled there for in their own words "years". First of all how is it even possible? I am including some pictures to help you understand the severity of the conditions and the animal. Note where his water bucket is kept outside his stall and found empty each day. The stall floor is heaved and disgusting with pools of urine. The horses hooves have not been trimmed in who knows how long. His tail is rubbed off most likely from not having been dewormed in some time. And he never leaves the stall. This is nothing short of animal cruelty, abuse and neglect. And it's obvious the head of the SOANY as well as an Executive of the USTA couldn't care less. If nothing else he is supporting and condoning this activity by admonishing the person who is seeking help for the animal. So far I have screenshots of the text communications sent to me by the gentleman concerned about the animal from Mr. Faraldo to support the quotes by him. Three months have passed and I am certain more will if nothing is done. Is this what 60 million a year in VLT subsidy is funding? And will ANYONE be held accountable? Absolute disgusting behavior.
