It amazes me why people care so much what Gural does. If you don't like the way he is running HIS business, race and or gamble somewhere else.

The only way to get a casino at the Meadowlands is by a voter referendum. I am sure he has done his own polling and that’s why he thinks he can get one this time.

that is the hubris/arrogance part that is part of why Gural has a handful of "haters"

I don't hate him-i am just a realist in/from NJ

Give the dude his fucking casino and we'll see rock star purses that we haven't seen in a long time, possibly never.

You don't think he got into the biz to become a billionaire, do you?

He would of made billions more if he kept his head in real estate, he likes this racing shit.

His big talk about cheating is better than no talk too!

It all sux but Jesus!   ;D

If you live in NJ why would you vote against a casino at the Meadowlands?

i would vote for him to receive a casino license

declaring himself a savior praying for a casino for a decade, then cries poor mouse when he grossly misjudged Trenton politics and his view of "self entitlement"-well that i just dont like that smell

"In anticipation of the casino push in 2026, the unity between The Meadowlands and the Standardbred Owners Association of New Jersey (SBOANJ) has been reaffirmed by a freshly inked two-year contract that increases the track’s support of the horsemen in several ways. In a critical demonstration of good faith and long-term partnership, The Meadowlands has also committed to offset the recent increase in New Jersey’s sports wagering tax, pledging to supplement the Standardbred purse account each month in an amount equal to the actual shortfall created by the tax hike, estimated at $450,000 to $500,000 annually. Dedicated support for New Jersey breeding and racing, including daily NJ-owned/sired races, bonuses for NJ-sired horses in overnights, and $800,000 annually in Sire Stakes funding."
Since Jeff Gural is so confident that he will get his casino next year, it's good to see they now have plenty of money for the purse account.  No more complaining about how the Meadowlands is losing money every racing night.

If Gural didn't have his "Gural rules" and allowed anyone with an active NJ license to race at his track, the entry box would be overflowing, he would have 10-horse fields in every race, and he'd have a huge handle every night.  Just my two cents.

That is not true. He is always begging for horses.

If they give it, whose fault is it?

FYI big companies do it with government on all levels.
Example:  will bring jobs into an area for tax breaks.

He says he has no money for marketing his business. If he can't get a loan  and this new idea doesnt make it, maybe he can start a gofundme?

And more and more stables are doing that. They are not interested in racing at The Meadowlands. Having cards filled with 68 and 71 Trackmaster races are horses that the more successful stables would not even have in their barn. The Meadowlands didn't add any Freehold days. Freehold class horses are merely now a big part of the Meadowlands' everyday programs. Happy that the Freehold horsemen can race for more money than before, but the quality of racing at the Neadowlnds is the worst it has ever been.  And getting worse. The handle tells it all. If you took away all the CAT wagering, they would not even reach 2 million a night.

Must be nice to own a track, race your own horses there, and then ban your competition's trainers from racing against you, even though they have licenses, while overlooking your own trainers' histories of positives.

Open up your own racetrack and don't let Gural race there. Problem solved.
