Hope all the horses and workers survive.  Looks like a terrible situation they are in.  Prayers!   tmbz1

I read 1 horse confirmed dead, 1 or 2 unaccounted for. I didn't see an update on the people, though, oddly enough.

Unfortunately worst than that. :(

https://www.kob.com/new-mexico/severe-flooding-strikes-ruidoso/

"The flooding killed two children of a Fort Bliss family, a man “in his 40s or 50s” and several animals, including eight horses. The flooding also damaged an estimated 35-50 homes, including a home swept away near Downshift Brewing Company in Midtown Ruidoso."

Thr Ruidoso Downs million dollar quarter horse races just ahead, trials were just completed
The track had recently had more repairs completed after two previous flooding issues following devastating forest fires, burning all water absorbing vegetation. Simply the worst possible scenario. The costs have broken many operations.

Godspeed to all affected there. Human and animal

  • dougie: I know very little about him. But since I admire his goals, I admire the man. There'a alot of hate out there. But it's the horses that all should focus on. My friend Trigger tells me i'm naive about things. I am not. But I do believe that what he does overrides the petty nasty personal attacks we see so frequently.

  • Kirby's Ace: Most people on here dont hate the messenger they just hate the hypocrite. We're was him and his messages when he was in the business. Why start after getting booted

  • dougie: I'm glad. Some folks on here hate the messenger so they hate the message too! Mike P. has never insulted me in any way. I see a lot I=of support from many "non horse people" on his page.

  • dougie: I happen to support Mikes effort to help these abused horses.

  • Kirby's Ace: So saying I can't wait for your reply now turns into I think its ok for people to abuse animals? Deflect much?
