Might have been the 7th race last night.  Replay isn't available.

It’s happened at Harrington in the past.

Purple is right. It did happen there before that time the tractor stayed on the rail and the horses had to go around it! Race was canceled and refunded. I was there that night couldn't believe it!

Fifty plus years ago.
Hillsdale or Centerville, MI.
Ambulance is parked in the infield next to judges stand.
Horses (me included) are just coming up behind the starting gate and coming around the turn to start a race.
Ambulance gets a call.
Ambulance with lights on and siren blowing pulls on to the track and heads for the drawgate at the head of the streach.
Straight into the on coming starting gate and full field of horses.
No harm no foul, but boy oh boy did we ever scatter.
I am just an old horse trainer still going around in circles. Sometimes Fast. Sometimes Half-Fast.

I saw this happen once years ago at a county fair, Trumansburg in NY. The whole field went wide at the 3/4. it caused no harm, but wow.

Fifty plus years ago.
Beaer Dam WI.
Local implement dealer loans a fancy new many geared John Deere tractor to drag the track.
Inexperienced tractor driver starts out onto track.
Realizes horses are coming.
Stops and tries to find reverse, but hits another forward gear and jumps forward.
Again tries to find reverse, but jumps forward farther on to the track.
By now the horses go flying by.
Again no harm no foul.

Don’t know about you but I would rather the ambulance took off to take care of someone that needed them rather than waiting for the race to be over. But back then people had common sense and worked around issues that developed. Sadly now they think they have entitlement. Unfortunately the land of opportunity has become the land of entitlement. Fortunately Trump is trying to change that but the vast majority want everything for free so won’t happen till the money runs out and they back living on there own in a cave
