Took me a while too, but I'm thinking it's Linda Toscano.

Nothing wrong with Linda. But, I will be quite surprised if she improves the performance of this $1.8 million trotter. But, she probably has better dedicated spots to race him than Ake. That alone might help.

It's no win situation and I wouldn't want to train that horse.  If she improves then she's drugging him and if and when she doesn't he will get pulled and go someplace else.  Problem isn't the trainer or driver it's the horse.  He's a nice horse at best and not even close to be a top top horse.  He was always closing but and it's huge but the races had to come back to him.  He never once in his life passed a horse by out footing them.  He's not in high regard as a hard trying horse if you know what I mean.

This was a head scratcher from the start.  You almost think someone is laundering money it was such a horrible price for this horse.  But I’m sure that’s not the case, just a bad buy from a guy with way too much money and a history of showing off overpaying for everything.  Looks to have a couple nice homebred 2yo this season, not sure how many babies he has.

Linda trained Chapter Seven, Market Share and Walner so she has an idea of what to do with a trotter.  She also has no aged trotters whereas the others named - other than Wallin - have a barn full.

The issue - that everyone has pointed out - is that he is a nice horse just not an elite horse.  The aged trotters aren’t very deep but he still seems to be middle of that pack.  It’s tough to make the kind of money the price tag expects when your 3rd or 4th going for $100k.  Last year only 6 aged trotters won more than $500k and two of those were mares.

  • Calhoun: Thx I'm leaning to the 5 there.  Those CD/GP full field races look the best on the page. 1/2 length from being a G3 winner.
