Tom Merton and his then gang of young punks were on a race fixing splurge in the 90s. They thought they were invincible. Story did not make national headlines but those of us who were close to Monti at the time knew all about it. Funder of the fixing was not punished because his handle was and likely still is personally very high. A few of the young ( at that time) punks  got the lifetime boot. Yeah, lifetime boot.
