Direct from multiple sources who I asked to contact the President of the USTA. First response they got was Russell is handling issues at home. Which I do empathize with him, it can't be easy. HOWEVER, with all that is going on then maybe it's time he step aside and allow someone else to do what would be inevitable even if it's him in the top seat. Once you assume that role and take the responsibility of leading the association, in times like this there is no excuse. I appreciate him being so open, but it's also frightening. If you're the leader....LEAD.

Why would you talk behind a man's back because he won't take your phone calls? Why would you even bring his family into this?.......... I spoke for a while with this man he's very articulate and smart.........he wouldn't say anything negative about you like you're saying about him........... all he said to me was he won't take your phone calls or emails.......... He doesn't come on website exposing your family businesses....... why would you do it to him? If your fellow friends had half a brain they would see right through you........ Just go on record Mr. Williams told me I could call or email him anytime....... I will definitely email this post to him....... you have no right meandering into his business at home......

I had to read this twice to believe what he stated on the record. First, GOD FORBID another governing body who might act on facts take over the shit show called harness racing when it comes to rules, law and integrity. Russell Williams has the nerve to say no private corporation should be allowed to rule??? Really??? The USTA IS A 501c6!!!! And can hold executive votes without notice or an individuals right to a hearing, defense or appeal deciding if their membership should be stripped from them. On one hand those who have had minimal infractions which the executive board deems "detrimental" revoke indefinitely. Others who we've all seen recently guilty beyond any doubt of committing the same infractions as Jeff Gillis are members in good standing. He airs his biggest fear in the last sentence, "it's coming for Standardbreds". GOOD.
