CAW in action at Finger Lakes
« on: May 28, 2025, 04:32:32 PM »
If you bet the fourth race today, the odds dropped on the winner, the #6, from 6-1 to 6-5 in the stretch.  I guess that the smaller tracks who don't have the large pools have to allow this wagering in order to stay solvent.

Also, if you attended Monmouth Park on Monday, they crowded every car into one parking area.  They are so tight on money that if they opened the lot across the street, they would have to pay the Oceanport police to direct pedestrians across the street which is money they don't have to spend.  That is really hurting for income in my book.

Lug is correct. NO CAW group is bettin FINGER. But a individual might dump some money to take down a winner.
Back in me days,I knew a guy who was loaded. LENNY MAC'ALUSO be his name. Although he be a BRIDGE JUMPER. The other jent and I not know his name, used to bet at GREAT LAKE DOWNS in MICHIGAN,but at that time could only bet on that tracks races. So he drove most days to BALMORAL to make his bets. He was a win bettor and could slide the pools with his last minute bets. These 2 guys ruled the bettin in CHICAGOLAND area in bettin back in day with their bets. MAC, actually is the one that forced some tracks to stop SHOW bettin on 4 and 5 horse fields and went only on 6 or more, because of MINUS pools. But I will say this about MAC. He lost MILLIONS with his SHOW bets. DID not stop him though, just kept on plungin away. He had MILLIONS. And BOBBY,not the MAC we both new upstaires at TRACKSIDE.

KNOW I'M goin give a example: HAWTHORNE RACE TRACK. No one bets it. I've done this in past and won. Especially in tournaments. Got to say that this track has low purses and my GOD runs in races 12 and 11 and 10 year olds tat need to be just munchin grass on a farm. But this SUNDAY,I will play their PIC 6 for $1.00. Obviously,it be PART WHEEL. This thin has carried over for 6 race days and the carryover pool is $8700.00. Most money bet in each day is about $1200.00. A individual with moola can make a larger wager and take down the whole pool, even if they no nothin about handicappin. I'm not the guy with the MOOLA,but I know how to handicap that track and the JOCKEY'S and TRAINERS. And each race has like only 5 or 6 horses. It will be me first live bet in 2 years. I'lll post me selections about 5 minutes prior to first leg. Make sure you contack the CAWS to to select as that just makes the pool larger and more moola,I will take down.

The win pool total on race less than 1600.00 a 300 to 500 dollar bet would have done the same thing.  Member Irish Mac he moved to Florida you seen George around anymore.

LUG: George had acident some years back. He was always the DEER HUNTER. Anyway he drove to some hidden tree stand in western Illinois on some back dirt roads alone. I guess he was drivin to fast and he overturned his truck. e suffered some serious injuries and laid out for quite some time until some other hunters found him. He was airlifted to a hospital and he had lost a lot of blood. While there gettin transfusions the staff filled him with the wrong blood type. He almost died, but eventually pulled thru. Still quite fucked up though. He never returned to TRACK,MR.D'S or trackside. REtired and just stays at home. Kinda like myself. Ran into his brother a few times, the MILLER beer rep,and always ask about him and he tells me he doin OK but just stays at home. Never asked, but I'm sure he got a nice lawsuit compensation from DR'S and hospital.if that even settled yet.

Lug: As I use nicknames.
(1) was BEER BELLY BOB. His real name was BOB BEJUR. e was agood friend of mine. HE was a great bettor. e studied the form and had some nice angles. He was a PLACE bettor and maybe made at the most 3 bets a day at different tracks lookin for price horses. HE WAS GOOD. He would lay on those races $100.00 or $200.00 to place. And he hit. His proplem became, when he got a big inheritance fom a long lost uncle on his MOM's side and she also got one. He started hittin goin to VEGAS and lost a ton. Then he was the caregiver for his MOM and would not allow her to spend her share. When she passed,he inherited her share and again pissed it all away. Them CASINOES will kill you. He should have just stuck with his great handicappin playin the ponies. Anyhow he finnally passed also,BROKE.
(2) The other guy I think you refering too was used car saleman BOB. Did a lot of work for him. He sat at the first table behind bar with another pretty good handicapper called,JACK.
(3) And there was another one tat sat at that table also. I always called him OAK LAWN BOBBY. because he went every year to the OAK LAWN meet. Me and bobby were great friends. You would not know it because we constantly ragged each other. And I'm sayin OAK LAWN,because I'M drinkin and not sure that the name of track in ARKANSAS. Anyway. BOBBY and his brother owned a bar in NEW ORLEANS in his younger years and say's to me. JOHN the way you put done those beers,I would have had you tossed 5 minutes after walkin in. He was a bar owner and never had a alcholic beverage in his life. LOVED BOBBY. He was great. KInda quite, but could he come up with some great sarcatic rips.
(4) And I forgot one last thin. In some other post,I mentioned that I thought you owned horses with GRANIITZ. I know member our conversation many years ago when we first met. You had them with CRYSTAL.

I want to say another thin aout me bet yeaterday at AWTHORNE.
And I ain't no red boarder. So when me postin on line and me drinkin,I kinda confused me 4th race selections with me 5th race. Miller lites will do tat with one.
Any how my 4th on me ticket was 1,5,8.
So for $12.00 skins I got 5 of 6.
It was the 3rd that cost me. And I get Past Performance not by payin but just lookin up SIRES,TRAINERS and OWNERS that one can get for free. The only race and it be a 5 horse field,I could not find. So I call up the ponies in this 5 horse field. One stands out and I looks at EQUIBASE and see's before the program has even started sumone has dumped some moola on the pony. And the TRAINER been hot of late> HUGH ROBERSON. I looks at only one other horse. Got a good jock and out of the nice breedin, VITOLE,out of ELUSIVE QUALITY. And the horse was breed by CAROLYN WILSON who is one of RIVELLI'S top 3 owners. The horse most likely was claimed and runnin at 5 grand actually fit. But without being able to see,I singlrd the 4.
After all said and done.I should have looked at jock on 4. Not good. Only 5 winners the whole meet.
Anysees how. There was 1 winner for the PIC 6. And me thinks,IT was SUN TAN TOMMY. I know the guy. Hits PIC 5'S all the time and he likes playin carryovers. Just called him and left a voice mail. For 24 we would have split. Nice talkin to you all. I got. $68.70.
