During the winter it's one thing,  but with the good horses qualified now what's the excuse?
Just awful. Friday is hard to look at

It's a Freehold Card. 4 races of 68 TM and under, 1 TM 71 and under, 3  races 74 TM and under, and 4 amateur races.

Way to go

Is the race secretary doing Vernon too.  Noticed they now have ae claimers on every race.   Seldom saw that in past. Use to bet vernon some as liked the big track and hungry drivers.   No more..

If that’s true then just shut the entire place down.

Perhaps quite a few reasons for this:

Take a look at pocono Saturday afternoon.

I believe there are 5 good races for better horses. Look at the trainers and how things are enforced there too!

Yonkers races for more purse money.

If you have a “cheap” card, this means (in theory), you can fill out a race card and perhaps have more competitive fields to bet on and save on the purse account too!!

Not many good horses available??

the quality of horse is irrelevant to their handle(M1)

the upper level horses race at Pocono and Yonkers....... better purses

the amateur races at M1 handle the same as the other races-so Gural doesn't care

also agree-there are not that many good horses to go around

I can't help but wonder if there are some provisions in Gural's agreement with the State (or whomever). Not the first I've seen "economic hardship" language.

Gural wants more than the $10mil he already gets from NJ

maybe his drag/CAW experiment was to show "economic hardship"-so he can posture for it

Do bettors/gamblers want:

3 dollar winners on the tote board

8 dollar exactas

25 dollar trifectas

Or do they want value to make a decent return on their investment??

the days of prices and horses winning from 3rd over are long gone

you want to make those prices you mentioned better?--then ban CAW action

Only six full fields this weekend. Half of those are MADC. Jeff usually gets upset when he is short horses.

what you have posted has absolutely nothing to do with how good the horses are in quality--take a look at the prices at Yonkers and Pocono
