There is nothing wrong with Dave & Jess. The Meadowlands & the sport lost Brower & Mckee. No one could replace them. I'll agree the paddock interviewer needs to step it up. He's new so give him a chance to improve.
There is nothing wrong with teaching people to bet the favorites in every race? How about never singling a horse in any multi race bet, no matter how much you like the horse? Im curious, what do you think right about those strategies?
I'm in favor of reducing horizontal wagering to a bare minimum like it used to be. Get rid of that survivor nonsense for one thing. Give them one pik 4 6th-9th) Get rid of the pik 5, pik 6. One double race 1 & 2. .10 supers on every race. . 50 tri's on every race. The vertical pools will fill up more. How many pik 5's do you hit a year. You might get a couple of pik 4's but not many more. These horizontal plays force you to bet races you may not like is at the root of that.
I am on the opposite side here--dime supers and 50 cent trifectas are for bingo players who just box any number that may be a part of their lifelarger minimums produce larger payouts...so catering to bingo players just reduces the payoffs for those who actually study past performances and make picks based on logic not their license plate or address numbers
To me making minimums a $1 on tris pic3's and 4's is just turning away bettors. If you want to betit for $1 or more no one is stopping you, though making it a $1 removes it as an option for others.Looking at these handles all around, I don't see how you turn away anyone wanting to wager.
95% of my wagers are pick 4 and pick 5. I hit enough to keep my head above water. In general, I'm not interested in verticals because I'm no good at them. I can pick winners but have no idea who will fill the remaining slots. Week before last at Mohawk I did hit a $206 exacta because I loved Dirty Lil Piglet in the last race (no more horizontals to bet LOL) and used him on top of 5 others. 3 days later hit a $188 P-4 for a $4.80 investment. Different strokes for different folks.
"They just don't spread out as much." Exactly, they are forced to alter their wager due to the higherminimum. It is been my experience, you start cutting off horse to lower your wager, those are the ones that invariably get there.
