He shits on his bettors with comments like this-then allows Elite in to  account for half the action...make the handle look good even though it picks the pockets of the wagering public every race

he shits on them, then are unaware of it and they think he is wonderful and  will save the sport

They actually have the nerve to quote Joe Lee telling us that the reason for late odds changes is simply cause pools are small. Not a peep about the rampant CAW play monopolizing their pools after all of us bet. They think gamblers are so stupid. Everyone knows about caw play and late money. Insulting

Case in point. He also says he must have amatuers to card maximum 14 races. If they run 12 races, he loses money. Previously, he told us multiple times how he loses money on every live race night even saying they lose money every time they turn the light on. Now we're supposed to believe he's making money on these races and needs as many as possible. Total contradiction all of a sudden

he postures that he loses a couple of million a year conducting racing only in hopes of a casino

he only cares about a casino-racing keeps him in the  casino game

Obviously this entire hit piece on gamblers was desinged as a chance for him to publicly posture again for a casino. This time they actually chose to use their gamblers as fodder. Just unimaginable

Debbie Little is the perfect person to write the article because like her husband Dave is a big Gural butt kisser.

this is accurate

i feel deep down inside Gural now realizes, after about 10 years-he severely miscalculated NJ politics and his chances of getting a casino

he is now getting up there in years and there is no sign of him getting any casino any time soon

question is--will he keep funding these so called "losses" to keep the dream alive?

excellent question

would love to know how much he gets from his piece from FanDuel and how much he actually spends on helping the purses

i am skeptical he adds that much of his own money into the M1 purses

Like the large majority of racing management and owners across both breeds, they view people who bet on their horse product as degenerates and all around nuisance. It permeates through the employees. They hate us. We are just necessary evil to get the casino

As a bettor it's a slap in the face and a huge turn off for me personally.
If you don't like the amateur races, kick rocks. Okay I have multiple other tracks to wager on Fri and Sat evenings.

They have too many amateur races imo.

Its called Capitalism supply & demand....... Debbie is correct don't like it don't bet, simple! (if enough people dont bet or like the product..... it will change or go out of business)

Why do you care? haven't both of you said multiple times you don't wager on the Meadowlands?

If I don't like Outback Steak House or Olive Garden I don't eat there I don't tell them to change their menu......... I'm not fond of Yonkers, so I don't bet. I don't follow every move they make and complain about them; I move on and don't give them a second thought.

  • Trigger: Very good analysis Calhoun, moreso from my perspective that Albin Jimenez was suspended and the #2 ride was really suspicious and overooked.  Is it possible that there is action equal to far greater outside mutual pools worldwide?
  • Calhoun: That tri pool was $4500. Net of takeout $3300.  Out of 60 possible outcomes, the result was  5th most likely out of 60 (using win odds to calc). Paid 14 to 1. Doesn't seem awful. It also would have been bet pretty good by the genpop. Maybe rigged for the 3 to win but the tri? I think not too likely.

  • Trigger: The race that everyone is talking about where Jimenez #1 stiffs his horse to finish behind the #3 his gf, but no one mentions the #2 (Lebron) and how he stiffed to be behind Jimenez.  To set up the 312 tri watch the stretch. [link]
