Northfield race 11
« on: April 17, 2025, 04:04:26 AM »
Looked like the 4-horse slammed down pretty hard.  Any word on Justin, Braiden or the horses?  The outrider did a nice job catching the 6-horse without further incident.

sorry to say it but that was very innocent looking and and unnecessary
in that situation those horses should not have come together

I didn’t think I saw the #4 move after, but was hoping for the best.  Anyone have actual knowledge of what went down?

Braiden seemed shaken up but fine. Justin didn't move for a few seconds after he hit the ground, guess he was knocked out, but apparently he's ok. The 4 horse unfortunately was put down. The 6 seemed fine as he was walked back to the paddock.

What actually happened there? Looks like the driver on the 6 cut it too close and hooked wheels, which threw the 4 off balance and it looks like that poor horse hit its head pretty hard. First time watching the replay I thought it might have been a cardiac issue... but if not surely the driver on the 6 gets days for being less than fully competent.

I didn't get to see the race but Braiden was on the 6.  He cut a horse off last week and nearly caused a pile up.  I don't know how this race went down but i've noticed that he can be a bit dangerous driving.  Just my take.  In the past he was bouncing up and down like Joe B.  I think he has talent but he has a lot to learn.

You are correct last week he was very close to causing a major accident there. Thankfully him and Justin are ok

I just had a conversation with a good friend about this over the phone, and I said the same thing- he bounces in the bike like Joe B, makes dangerous moves at times, he makes me nervous just watching him race.
Nothing personal against the kid, but he has a lot to learn and I really hope this wakes him up a bit.

#4 makes a break first causing the hooked wheels. Hard to tell as it happens quickly but I thought it looked like a possible breakdown before they go down and no fault of Braiden with the #6.
