William Clark
« on: April 02, 2025, 09:21:59 PM »
Been the focus of note lately for some bad behavior in the amateur races. As far as I am concerned he should be banded for some of his behavior and driving of kate,

He has one of his horses shipping in from the Big M to Rosecroft. He outclasses this bunch by miles. I'm not even sure how he is eligible for this race.

Got stung then pushed and still won for fun. I agree, doesn't seem to fit condition.
You tell me THAT horse is a less than 72.5 trackmaster rating?

The TM rating is the only way he could be eligible. And that was ridiculous. A gift at 7-5 and the only exacta possible.

Only thing I can figure , and it's entirely a guess, is that Trackmaster doesn't compute Amateur races.

Then he is definitely ineligible for the race. But that is too difficult for the RCR judges to figure out.

I don't know what Sunshine's Finest's TMR rating was before today, but as of right now his TMR is 72.02.
I am just an old horse trainer still going around in circles. Sometimes Fast. Sometimes Half-Fast.

I agree.
Realizing everyone has their own handicapping methods and opinions I just do not see the angle of trackmaster, whether a horse drops or steps up.
If horse is sharp (or not sharp) doesn’t seem to matter what trackmaster rating race horse either steps up to or drops down to.

Clark has Joe Lee driving his in an amateur race. He's banded?
TM ratings are not good in my opinion.

There are 2 related TM ratings.
1 is the value given for each race the horse is in.
The other is the overall value based on the average of the 4 highest individual ratings for each of the last 8 races, subject to some adjustments for breaks and interferences.

For those who follow Tbreds, it’s similar to the Beyer rating.

The only tracks that use it are the ones that are short of horses and use it to fill races. The real cheap tracks use it big time. In a nutshell, it stinks. Do the thoroughbred have conditions based on the Byer? I don't follow them, so I wouldn't know.
