yes she gets the money , to provide for his /their kid !!

I'm sure at some point she will be employed and perhaps marry someone else and move on  etc , etc
 your right as the weeks go by Myers will be less talked about , but that does not change the fact he left a fiancé and  a young child behind, that goes on forever
