MONTICELLO COMPENSATION
« on: December 31, 2024, 11:48:32 AM »
Monticello canceled for the 2nd day in a row. Does anyone know if they compensate the horses that were entered? Shipping is expensive and the horses miss a week.

And do you think they care? Honestly?

Some of the horses up there only have 3 good legs, if that, they could use a week off. Their compensation is, they probably get first preference when they enter next time.

monti would be the first track to close if they were ever going to get their shit together and make this a professional sport.  they cant make any money.

5-8 tracks for the year. televise it once a week like on a saturday night. promote it.

espn night at the races.
maybe it dont work but its worth a shot.

drivers trainers and track wont be so watered down.

ESPN for Monticello racing?
Thats like asking ABC to have a ballroom dancing show with Fred Sanford as the main male dancer in primetime.

There is no way ESPN would give up college football for 6 months to broadcast to a small viewership.

Monticello is one step away from becoming the new Thunder Ridge.

Monti has a handle. Actually a very nice one.Thunder Ridge did not.

Their compensation to the horsemen is being open and giving bottom dwellers a place to race.

Nothing new. Whats to be expected when it goes from freezing and snowing to warm and rain.   I feel for the horsemen but Monticello will never change.
