Post time at Hawthorne
« on: October 20, 2024, 07:19:20 AM »
The last race on Saturday night went off at approximately 1:30 am on Sunday morning.  I thought that Midnight was the cut off. Who's wagering at 1:30 in the morning?

Not the eastern time zone. That is 2:30am in Yankeeland.

What about the overworked trainers?
Example
Jamaica Patton.
Stables at Springfield.
A three hour ship each way.
Raced nine head Sat.
In the first and also the fifteenth.
Hard telling what time he got back to Springfield.
Back with six for Sunday.
In the second and with three in the fourteenth.
He had a winner in the fourteenth so he may not have gotten back home to put his head on a pillow till the sun was coming up.
I don't think he has much help and ships himself.
I hope he got to sleep all day Monday!
I am just an old horse trainer still going around in circles. Sometimes Fast. Sometimes Half-Fast.
