Veterinarians Brian McNamara & Roy Sadowski
« on: September 02, 2024, 04:18:19 PM »
Is Brian still practicing? I think he lived up around Goshen. I think he made more money pre-racing than he did practicing veterinarian care but who can blame him.

I heard Roy Sadowski (Mr. radium pellets) really nice guy,  I heard he passed away. Sad

I’m not sure if we’re talking about the same person. Roy was a veterinarian that specialized in radium pellets. Really nice personable fellow.

Roy was George's son. Roy was part of the famous Cornell Class of 1969. Others were Dr. Nolan, Dr. Delius. Dr. DeLeo, Dr. Madrin and Dr. Seeber.

I remember all of those guys you’re mentioning Pocono Joe was a character.  Doc Seeber and Vic who worked with him had horrible attitudes at times. I didn’t know that Roy was George’s son.

George was a pumpkin farmer/horse trainer. He had some top horses like Wico Dares and Bomber Bill.

I wonder if you remember Elmer Seiler Pocono Taurus and Pocono bagman. I know he had his own farm I think he also trained up and Honesdale.

Knew him well. The rumor about him was all his homebreds were a year older than they actually were. Those Pocono horses were tough as nails.

Elmer had a very good trotter, Durbar. He was B-1 when he raced at Roosevelt.
